Impromptu Sunday Road Trip

On Sunday, June 2, the kids and I took a quick road-trip with our friends, Debbie and Alaina, to Arlington, WA, to procure some grass-fed beef.  The family-owned North Fork Dairy is predominately a small organic milk producer (hence the name "dairy"!) but also sells beef.
The girls were delighted to meet these lovely 1-day-old calves. Harry, on the other hand, wasn't interested in the awkward-looking beasts.....
He was more interested in exploring other aspects of the farm-- especially this lovely bed of rocks by the entrance.  [Original farm house where the couple resides, set against the lovely mountainous back-drop.]

Harry couldn't get enough of these "teenager" cows, and he kept scaring them away from their delicious dinner!  [There would've been more photos, but he was a handful, so it took all five of us bigger people to keep the 15-month-old corralled!  One "photo opp" I missed was all three of the girls riding the tractor to get the "marshmallow" bale of hay-- which you can see at the back-end of the barn here-- to feed these young cows.]  It was a super-fun Sunday road trip!
